The present investigation was aimed to isolate natural antioxidants and cellulosic fibers from agro-food byproducts for the development of biodegradable and active food packaging system. In this connection, certain cost-effective and easily available agro-food byproducts (brewer’s spent grains BSG, hazelnut shells HS, orange peels OP, and wheat straw WS) were evaluated as a source of natural antioxidants and cellulosic fibers.
