Writing in a foreign language is undoubtedly the most challenging of the four linguistic skills, because it involves complex cognitive processes as well as a focus on content, genre and purpose. Learners do not simply produce sequences of words and sentences in the foreign language; they bring to the writing task a part of themselves in terms of their own culture and their personal experience of writing in general. Making writing a more creative, enjoyable and motivating activity is the key to getting learners to write more and more often, and the more they write, the better they will get at writing.

Abstract
Writing in a foreign language is undoubtedly the most challenging of the four linguistic skills, because it involves complex cognitive processes as well as a focus on content, genre and purpose. Learners do not simply produce sequences of words and sentences in the foreign language; they bring to the writing task a part of themselves in terms of their own culture and their personal experience of writing in general. Making writing a more creative, enjoyable and motivating activity is the key to getting learners to write more and more often, and the more they write, the better they will get at writing.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
