This paper proposes to consider arts, in particular painting, poetry, and prose as a potentially powerful driver in the didactic experience, both for learners and for teachers. The work investigates how the implicit response of the public in front of a work of art follows their identification with its content and consequently facilitates the learning experience of a foreign language. The viewpoint offered emerges from an analysis conducted on poems and narratives by contemporary German and Italian writers within a University Master’s degree course. The use of works of art to enhance student learning caused a positive personal change within them and developed into a new way of facing learning experiences.

Abstract
This paper proposes to consider arts, in particular painting, poetry, and prose as a potentially powerful driver in the didactic experience, both for learners and for teachers. The work investigates how the implicit response of the public in front of a work of art follows their identification with its content and consequently facilitates the learning experience of a foreign language. The viewpoint offered emerges from an analysis conducted on poems and narratives by contemporary German and Italian writers within a University Master’s degree course. The use of works of art to enhance student learning caused a positive personal change within them and developed into a new way of facing learning experiences.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
