The essay identifies some thematic and stylistic connections between two extremely different poets in the Italian literature: Leopardi and d’Annunzio. The analysis is particularly focused on "L’infinito", considered as an antecedent of "Alcyone"’s "Meriggio": the author challenges the traditional criticism of the «beatitudine panica» in d’Annunzio’s poem, underlining on the contrary its dismal atmosphere inspired by some passages from Schopenhauer’s and Nietzsche’s works.

Abstract
The essay identifies some thematic and stylistic connections between two extremely different poets in the Italian literature: Leopardi and d’Annunzio. The analysis is particularly focused on "L’infinito", considered as an antecedent of "Alcyone"’s "Meriggio": the author challenges the traditional criticism of the «beatitudine panica» in d’Annunzio’s poem, underlining on the contrary its dismal atmosphere inspired by some passages from Schopenhauer’s and Nietzsche’s works.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
