Risalite e discese. Le trasformazioni dei percorsi degli spettatori nell'ecosistema mediale

Television viewers are starting to make themselves familiar with a convergent media landascape, and to engage with a lot of Tv programs (and their textual extentions, access forms and multilayered brands) alongside a variety paths. This essay presents the final results of a four-year long qualitative research on Italian convergent television, mainly focusing on TV series, on the changes in their consumption habits, on the different approaches to TV and media convergence, and on a model of "weak" and "strong" engagement that represents effectively the relationships between TV series and their audience.

Gli spettatori televisivi cominciano ad acquisire familiarità con uno scenario mediale convergente, e a lasciarsi coinvolgere da numerosi programmi televisivi (e dalle loro estensioni testuali, forme d'accesso e brand) lungo una varietà di percorsi. Il saggio presenta i risultati di una ricerca qualitativa, durata quattro anni, sulla televisione convergente italiana, focalizzandosi soprattutto sulle serie televisive, sui cambiamenti nelle abitudini di consumo di questo genere, sui differenti approcci alla convergenza televisiva e mediale, e su un modello di ingaggio "debole" e "forte" che rappresenta in modo efficace la relazione tra le serie televisive e il loro pubblico.
