The essay reconstructs the soundscape of eighteenth-century Milan through the role of the Royal Castle, a symbolic and functional hub connecting political power, military life and religious rituals. In the absence of direct musical sources, the study integrates chronicles, gazettes and archival documents, recreating the intertwining of cannon salutes, Te Deum, symphonic academies and processions as elements of communication and identity in urban society during the Austrian era.
