This archival research is about the formative years of the irredentist poet Giuseppe Picciòla. The three parts are named after three cities, Trieste, Graz and Pisa. In Trieste Picciòla attended the municipal gymnasium (1869-1877): various documents – two short articles in «L’Esordiente»; an unpublished ode imitating Carducci; a translation of Horace’s Ars poetica – testify to his first steps in the political-literary field. Following police investigations launched in Trieste, three Trieste irredentists are put on trial in Graz (1878-1879); Picciòla, involved in absentia on circumstantial grounds, was forbidden to return to the Julian city until 1899. In Pisa he attended the University and the Scuola Normale (1877-1881), and wrote two dissertations, one for a degree, the other for a teaching qualification. For the first time the essay presents his letters to D’Ancona and his degree thesis on Tibullus.

Abstract
For the first time the essay presents his letters to D’Ancona and his degree thesis on Tibullus.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
