This volume, edited by Donato Pirovano, traces the evolution of the short story between the 16th and 17th centuries through a critical comparison of Girolamo Parabosco's Diporti and Gherardo Borgogni's La Fonte del Diporto. While Parabosco's work fits into the Boccaccian tradition with a fluid and lively narrative structure, set in the Venetian lagoon and often linked to theatrical themes, Borgogni's emerges as a reused editorial product, characterized by a complex collage of famous sources and translations adapted to contemporary tastes. Pirovano reconstructs the trajectories of these two authors with philological rigor and impeccable critical apparatus, offering a new perspective on the entertainment literature of the period. This edition not only redeems minor figures in the literary landscape, but also allows us to grasp the stylistic and sociocultural transformations that marked the transition from the High Renaissance to the threshold of the Baroque.

Abstract
This edition not only redeems minor figures in the literary landscape, but also allows us to grasp the stylistic and sociocultural transformations that marked the transition from the High Renaissance to the threshold of the Baroque.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
