Case description: a premature newborn of 31+5 weeks gestational age was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of our hospital with respiratory distress. The infant presented with respiratory distress in the delivery room, needing assistance with oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP) 6 cmH20, FiO2 0.30. In our NICU, the respiratory distress was managed following our internal protocols and the European Consensus Guidelines on the Management of Respiratory Distress Syndrome‐2019 Update.

Abstract
