Note e aggiunte alle Poesie di Giuseppe Picciòla

The paper places the recent edition of Giuseppe Picciòla’s Poems edited by Maria Ballarin in the context of Italian poetry in the late 19th century. Particular attention is paid to the ingestion relationship with Giosue Carducci. This point of view allows us to analyze the corrections introduced to the Versi (1884), through an annotated copy of that poetic collection preserved at Duke University, and to highlight slight infringements of the lyrical code by Picciòla. Finally, six texts that can be dated from 1882 to 1907, excluded from the Ballarin edition, open up new perspectives on Picciòla’s biography and poetic culture. For example, some of his books are present in the recently found libraries of Italo Svevo and Carlo Michelstaedter.
