The contribution recounts, historically and critically, Vincenzo Agnetti's 1974 exhibition Immagine di una mostra, which took place in Milan at the Alessandra Castelli Gallery and in New York at Robert Feldman Fine Arts. Starting from an in-depth analysis of the catalogue, curated by the artist himself, the study retraces the theoretical path developed by Agnetti in the years preceding the exhibition, highlighting how, since 1967, the Milanese artist had performed a surgical action of deconstruction of language that, around 1973, converges in a search for photographic language in conceptual key of which are the result of the works on display. Beyond the analysis of the exhibition, the study of the catalogue provides an example of the modus operandi of Agnetti, whose works and exhibitions are not proposed as a means of research but as a tool for theoretical reflection, that is "the reason for the images exhibited".

Abstract
Beyond the analysis of the exhibition, the study of the catalogue provides an example of the modus operandi of Agnetti, whose works and exhibitions are not proposed as a means of research but as a tool for theoretical reflection, that is "the reason for the images exhibited".I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
