In recent years, Italy, like many other countries, has experienced a significant decline in vaccination rates. The mandatory vaccination policy introduced by the Italian government has brought national coverage back to the levels recommended by WHO guidelines. The only exception is the province of Bolzano, where adherence to the vaccination program ranges between 81% and 73%, depending on the type of vaccine. To better understand the determinants of vaccination behavior in this province, a survey was conducted among physicians. One of the most interesting findings highlights behavioral differences based on linguistic group affiliation. In particular, German-speaking doctors tend to perceive vaccination not only as less important but also as less safe.
