In the post-COVID era healthcare systems are facing several new (and old) challenges. On one hand, the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed the need of a higher number of healthcare workers such as the necessity of new competences and skills. On the other hand, it has stressed some of the pre-existing problems: patients ageing and an increasing number of chronic conditions.
