The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of business network collaboration between a large and small business. The research has two objectives: first, it will examine how two companies' resource interactions have affected their buyer-supplier relationship; second, it will examine the effects that this established relationship has had on their network. The literature review emphasizes the value-creating relationships between large and small businesses in business networks. Research on how these relationships develop over time and how they affect the network is lacking, though. The methodology employed in this research is a case study approach. Data will be collected through interviews with key stakeholders, analysis of Alpha and Beta documents. Expected outcomes of this research include a deeper understanding of the implications of collaboration between small and large businesses in a business network context. The study attempts shed light on the relationship between two companies, different in size, and the effects that this established relationship had on the network, in particular how the exchange of resources between them affected the relationship. The research will contribute to the existing literature by providing insights on how to strengthen relationships between small and large firms linked by a customer-supplier relationship.
