Abstract
The academic, pedagogical, and scientific progress undertaken at Università Cattolica in the field of exercise and sports sciences has placed particular emphasis on transformations in terms of the educational curriculum, research projects, and their impact on the academic and professional community. In a context where disciplines related to motor sciences are gaining increasing relevance, the critical analysis presented provides an overview of the challenges and opportunities faced within the Department of Education. Through a historical review of the initiatives taken, it delineates pedagogical strategies, external partnerships, and the evolution of research lines that have characterised this journey. The work highlights the synergy between teaching and research, illustrating how scientific output in the field of motor sciences has contributed to the enrichment of students’ education and innovation in the field. The analysis of the experience at Università Cattolica serves as a significant model for academic institutions interested in developing advanced study programmes and research in the field of exercise and sports sciences. Finally, this contribution offers a glimpse into the future, identifying challenges and prospects for the next decade, including possible developments in terms of curriculum, applied research, and interdisciplinary collaborations.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
