Drawing from the state-of-art of contemporary studies on the rise of radical right populism in the post-2008 Europe, the article focuses on an often under-researcher aspect: the complex relation existing between finance and social welfare. The central argument of the article is that contemporary radical right populism in the EU is on the rise not only for its xenophobic propaganda, rather in virtue of its challenge to notion of finance and social welfare as a zero sum game
