Genitorialità migranti tra identità familiare e identità culturale

The emblematic experience of the migration process experienced by parents leads to a reflection on their identity. This identity is related to that of their chil- dren in a balance between the relationship with the context of origin and the hosting reality. The present work narrates some life stories of Ghanaian parents in order to review the emblematic role that the parenting function assumes with respect to the cultural identity of all its members and in particular of chil- dren. In this scenario, the pedagogy of the family works with the intercultural one to support the significant role of parents with migratory backgrounds, for the assumption of an open attitude to dialogue, reworking, and change.

L’esperienza emblematica del processo migratorio vissuta dai genitori por- ta a riflettere circa l’identità di quest’ultimi in relazione con quella dei figli, in un equilibro tra la relazione con il contesto di origine e la realtà di ac- coglienza. Nel contenuto si dà voce ad alcune storie di vita di genitori di origine ghanese per riflettere sul ruolo emblematico che la funzione geni- toriale assume nel rispetto dell’identità culturale di tutti i suoi membri ed in particolare dei figli. In questo scenario la pedagogia della famiglia entra in relazione con quella interculturale per sostenere dunque il ruolo di genitori con background migratorio, per l’assunzione di un atteggiamento aperto al dialogo, alla rielaborazione e al cambiamento.
