Studied the relation of gender, perspective, conflict style, and outcome in conjugal conflict. Human Ss: 302 male Italian adults (aged 34–65 yrs) (married with at least 1 child aged 11–18 yrs). 482 female Italian adults (aged 31–58 yrs) (married with at least 1 child aged 11–18 yrs). Data on sociodemographic variables, marital status, conflict style, and conflict outcome were obtained by questionnaire. The results were evaluated according to age, gender, marital status, occupation, conflict style (avoidance, compromise, aggression, or violence), conflict resolution (intimacy or escalation), and self-perception and perception of others. Tests used: The Disagreement Scale (T. M. Honess and E. A. Charmann, 1992), the Conflict Style Scale (Lanz et al, 1997). A multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and other statistical tests were used.
