The aim of the article is to take up the considerations as to the role of communication and the media in the encyclical Laudato Sì, from a slightly different perspective from those used to date. We wish, namely, to start from the nature of the encyclical as a public discourse: given its conversational style, it addresses the whole of mankind by reflecting on universal values. In this sense, to better evidence in the specific nature of the positions expressed in Pope Francis' text, a comparison will be made between the encyclical and another public text on rather similar topics: the UN document Transforming Our World.

Abstract
The aim of the article is to take up the considerations as to the role of communication and the media in the encyclical Laudato Sì, from a slightly different perspective from those used to date. We wish, namely, to start from the nature of the encyclical as a public discourse: given its conversational style, it addresses the whole of mankind by reflecting on universal values. In this sense, to better evidence in the specific nature of the positions expressed in Pope Francis' text, a comparison will be made between the encyclical and another public text on rather similar topics: the UN document Transforming Our World.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
