In the Italian context “full time” is the most common model of school chosen by families, although there are strong territorial differences. The paper aims to illustrate the increasing diffusion of this type of school, which corresponds to a progressive weakness of the original pedagogical aspects. It is necessary to refocus on these aspects, improving the studies on the connections between school-time and learning outcomes.

Abstract

In the Italian context “full time” is the most common model of school chosen by families, although there are strong territorial differences. The paper aims to illustrate the increasing diffusion of this type of school, which corresponds to a progressive weakness of the original pedagogical aspects. It is necessary to refocus on these aspects, improving the studies on the connections between school-time and learning outcomes.
