Nel sesto centenario zabarelliano. L'originale dei Consilia di Francesco Zabarella (+1417) esemplare di tipografia dell'editio princeps del 1490

The first section of the article presents the distinguished canonist Francesco Zabarella (1360-1417). Closely associated with the world of Humanism and a collector of the works of Petrarch, he served as professor at the Universities of Florence and Padua, and participate in the Council of Constance. After a brief summary of his career and works, the article then focuses on the original manuscript, partly in Zabarella's own hand, of his collection of consilia (MS Lucca, Biblioteca Capitolare Feliniana, 258). The second part of the article, starting with the editio princeps of 1490, financed by Felino Sandei, who owned both MS. 258 as well as the copy of this edition also in Lucca (Inc. 259), looks at incunabula printing in Pescia. Finally the editorial work carried out on the printer's manuscript copy (which can be identified as Zabarella's original) is examined, concluding with some discussion of what can be deduced from an analysis of the edition itself.
