This essay explores the main sources about the Gonzaga's libraries in the 15th century and shows that almost every member of the family had his own private collection of books, though an ancient group of manuscripts (whose inventory had been drafted in 1407) seems to have resisted until the final dispersal in 1707. New evidences are given about single latin and vernacular texts owned by members of the family in the second half of the 15th century.

Abstract
This essay explores the main sources about the Gonzaga's libraries in the 15th century and shows that almost every member of the family had his own private collection of books, though an ancient group of manuscripts (whose inventory had been drafted in 1407) seems to have resisted until the final dispersal in 1707. New evidences are given about single latin and vernacular texts owned by members of the family in the second half of the 15th century.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
