The essay aims to find out the forms and the practices of self-representation in home movies. During the shooting, the amateur transfers in the filmic texture, tensions, displacements and orientations: everything is related to his being in situation. Moreover the immanence of his sight brings about an emotional legacy and activates a process of projection of the self to the others and to the world. Through the analysis of familiar scenes unfolds the elaboration of an intimate vocabulary, that is shared as able to express the affective movements tying an individual to his own family, and vice versa.
