In this chapter I propose a reading of Gianikian & Ricci Lucchi's filmmaking as embroidery. I focus in particular on the series or short films 'Frammenti Elettrici', maintaining that the gesture preformed to rework the found footage implies an artistic composition and recomposition of the filmic material which poses the issue of fragmentation, thereby questioning the 'writing of history' by means of cinema and its weaving into storytelling practices.

Abstract
In this chapter I propose a reading of Gianikian & Ricci Lucchi's filmmaking as embroidery. I focus in particular on the series or short films 'Frammenti Elettrici', maintaining that the gesture preformed to rework the found footage implies an artistic composition and recomposition of the filmic material which poses the issue of fragmentation, thereby questioning the 'writing of history' by means of cinema and its weaving into storytelling practices.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
