From a reflection on the concept of evaluation in Physical Education, this article proposed answers to questions that arise in the professorship about to the evaluation process: Why to evaluate? What to evaluate? When to evaluate? Who evaluates? How to evaluate? It becomes essential the teacher's role as figure indispensable for the identification of the criteria and irreplaceable point of comparison for the students in the process of Learning-Teaching.
