From the beginning of the seventeenth century Elizabeth of Hungary was venerated as a patron of the Third Order Secular of Saint Francis. Historically, she neither had institutional connections with the Friars Minor nor was she able to have been part of the Third Order. For this she named to St. Francis the hospital-leprosarium she founded in Marburg

Abstract
From the beginning of the seventeenth century Elizabeth of Hungary was venerated as a patron of the Third Order Secular of Saint Francis.
