Ways and forms, purposes and reasons to educate the younger generation to inhabit the Earth and take care of it, constitute unavoidable issues of today's civil debate. In the current socio-economic context, ever more interdependent and vulnerable, marked by various kinds of risks, sustainability through the local and global, the individual and the community, present and future generations. The environment and sustainability are key areas of thought and action, which rebalance the relationship between humanity and nature. The idea of a really sustainable human civilization requires a cultural transformation, virtuous synthesis between environmental protection, human development and economic productivity, which integrally involves seeing, thinking, doing and image the world. Caring for the environment and education are connected and involve families, schools, communities to achieve common good. Education plays a key-role to discover the interdependences that mark human future on our planet, to understand the categories of change and risk, to plan responsibly in a relational and fair perspective.
