Il contesto urbano di Expo 2015

THE URBAN CONTEXT OF EXPO 2015 - The article examines characteristics and current dynamics of the area where the EXPO exhibition is taking place. A specific attention is given to the urban transformations along the axis of the Sempione, which are linked to large and complex plans. The first of these major plans, the construction of the new premises of the Milano Fair, was already realized in the territory of the municipalities of Rho and Pero. A second plan, aimed at the urban renewal and infrastructural reorganization of the area of Cascina Merlata, is currently a work in progress.

IL CONTESTO URBANO DI EXPO 2015 - In riferimento a Expo 2015 il contributo esamina caratteristiche e dinamiche dell’area in cui si colloca il sito espositivo. Particolare attenzione dedica alle trasformazioni urbanistiche lungo l’asse del Sempione che sono collegate a progetti di vasta portata. Un primo progetto è stato attuato e riguarda la localizzazione del polo esterno della fiera di Milano nei comuni di Rho e Pero. Un secondo progetto è in corso di realizzazione ed è finalizzato alla riqualificazione urbana e riorganizzazione infrastrutturale della zona di Cascina Merlata.
