Isolated ventricular non-compaction (IVNC) is characterized by a non-compacted (NC) and compacted (C) myocardial layer. Diagnosis can be made by echocardiography (ECHO) or cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (cMRI). Guidelines for sport activities exclude IVNC athletes from competitive sports or suggest individual risk evaluation. To better define it, we investigated 22 asymptomatic athletes (18.5 ± 4.9 years old) with IVNC by ECG, ECHO, maximal stress-test, 24-h Holter monitoring and cMRI. On the basis of left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVDD) and ejection fraction (EF), athletes were divided into 2 groups.

Abstract
On the basis of left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVDD) and ejection fraction (EF), athletes were divided into 2 groups.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
