We study here the intertextuality of the Ahiqar Story with the Book of Tobit. The both stories are marked by an identical leitmotif (the right man is saved by his righteousness) and by two analogues thematic lines (the fall in disgrace and rehabilitation of a minister / the ingratitude of a nephew). Even the literary genre is similar: in Tobit it is almost a «didactic or wisdom novel», in Ahiqar it recalls the «legend of court». Then, Ahiqar is the model to whom is inspired Tobit, that perhaps was based on a later Aramaic version of the Elephantine text.

Abstract
We study here the intertextuality of the Ahiqar Story with the Book of Tobit. The both stories are marked by an identical leitmotif (the right man is saved by his righteousness) and by two analogues thematic lines (the fall in disgrace and rehabilitation of a minister / the ingratitude of a nephew). Even the literary genre is similar: in Tobit it is almost a «didactic or wisdom novel», in Ahiqar it recalls the «legend of court». Then, Ahiqar is the model to whom is inspired Tobit, that perhaps was based on a later Aramaic version of the Elephantine text.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
