The contribution retraces the relations between John Paul II and the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, starting from the attention that the atheneum gave to the Slavic world since the period when father Gemelli was rector. Several personalities, such as Giancarlo Brasca, strenghtened the links between the Catholic University and Karol Wojtyła, fostering the growth of many relations that involved the future pope as professor of the Catholic University of Lublin and Archibishop of Krakow. The analisys of the papers allows to recall the main phases of this issue, bringing out the dialogue with the academic world that characterized the teaching of John Paul II and, at the same time, the mandate that he gave to the Catholic University.
Il contributo ricostruire i rapporti intercorsi tra Giovanni Paolo II e l’Università Cattolica, a partire dall’attenzione per il mondo slavo manifestata dall’ateneo sin dai tempi di padre Gemelli. Diverse figure, come quella di Giancarlo Brasca, hanno contribuito a rafforzare i legami tra l’Università Cattolica e Karol Wojtyła, favorendo lo sviluppo di molteplici relazioni che hanno coinvolto il futuro pontefice come professore dell’Università Cattolica di Lublino e come arcivescovo di Cracovia. La documentazione analizzata permette di ripercorrere le tappe salienti di questa storia, facendo emergere, al contempo, il dialogo con il mondo universitario che ha segnato il magistero di Giovanni Paolo II e il mandato affidato da questo pontefice all’Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
