The influence of social networks on the everyday life of young people has been widely documented in the recent psychosocial literature. In the essay we present the results of an empirical multidisciplinary study set up by Catholic University and comprising a large sample of Italian families. The aims of the study was twofold: to test the moderational effects of the quality of family relationships ( warm and mediation) on the link between identification with Facebook and young psychosocial adjustment; and to analyze Facebook as specific relational space enabling the strengthening of the intergenerational communication.
