In this study, an Italian translation of the Metacognition Awareness Inventory (MAI: Schraw & Sperling Dennison, 1994) was administered to a sample of 300 high school and university students. The MAI is a 52-item self-report questionnaire which consists of two scales corresponding to two related components underlying Metacognition: Knowledge of Cognition and Regulation of Cognition. The Italian translation of the MAI was developed with a back-translation procedure by two independent translators. Participants were also asked to answer the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale and the State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), to test the hypotheses that metacognition is positively associated to self-esteem and negatively related to both state and trait anxiety. Data analysis are currently under way. A Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) will test the two factor structure of the questionnaire, whereas correlation and regression analyses will be used to analyze the associations with self esteem and anxiety.

Abstract
A Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) will test the two factor structure of the questionnaire, whereas correlation and regression analyses will be used to analyze the associations with self esteem and anxiety.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
