The elderly should enjoy certain fundamental rights, including freedom and autonomy. Too often, the lack of an active and healthy lifestyle, premised on the inevitability of the disease, binds the elderly to require the assistance of others. The lack of movement is related to many diseases in adulthood and increase with ageing. The active lifestyle and regular exercise help elderly to maintain their own autonomy, slow the cognitive and physical decline and not necessarily dependent on the other.
