Abstract
Ageing is a natural physiological process complex and influenced by many factors, some of which are modifiable. As the number of elderly continues to increase, it is important to develop interventions that can contribute to aging, the international bibliography, defines "success". In addition to proper nutrition and psychosocial well-being, the benefits of regular exercise on mortality and the prevention and control of chronic diseases, affecting both life expectancy and quality of life, are now known. Numerous studies have shown that regular practice, quantitative and qualitative, physical exercise decreases the risk of death, prevents the development of certain cancers, reduces the risk of osteoporosis and increases longevity. Programs should include training exercises designed to improve cardiorespiratory fitness and muscle function, as well as flexibility and balance.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
