Hermann Hesse e la religione

Two short essays contain a cogent summary of the "theological" thought of Herman Hesse: Glaube Mein (My belief) (1931) and Ein Stückchen Theologie (A piece of Theology) (1932). For Hesse, all religions have the same value, they all lead to God, each one saves its devotees, it is necessary to honor in each of them what they have in common, and there is only one God. These are all ideal principles that lead to universal religion, to the religion of the future which will be a bridge between the East and the West (1922). These are all highly pioneering perspectives.

Due piccoli scritti contengono una sintesi cogente del pensiero “teologico” di Herman Hesse: Mein Glaube (Il mio credo) (1931) e Ein Stückchen Theologie (Un pezzetto di Teologia) (1932). Per Hesse tutte le religioni hanno lo stesso valore, tutte conducono a Dio, ciascuna salva i suoi devoti, è necessario onorare in ognuna quanto esse hanno di comune, esiste un solo Dio; tutti principi ideali che conducono alla religione universale, alla religione del futuro che sarà comunque un ponte fra Est e Ovest (1922). Si tratta di posizioni ampiamente pionieristiche.
