Essere-tra. Kierkegaard e il luogo dell'esistenza

The contraposition between the Individual and the Crowd subtends the question of the place of existence. If we accept the polarity, without looking at the life context, we might derive an erroneous impression from it. Just opposed to the Crowd, the Individual does not have synonyms such as being isolated and detached. In order to avoid this misunderstanding, it is decisive to ponder on the place of existence. In a paradoxical way, the courage «of being a man among men», brings Kierkegaard to state that the «real great man, is the real common man». The choice of the individual does not coincide thus with an escape. And the common world of men is not necessarily a place of reprobation. This legitimates as much as a research on the phenomenology of places, and a focalization of the background tension that sustains it; as well as the inextricable relation between place and existence, on which we focus on.

La contrapposizione tra il Singolo e la Folla sottende la domanda sul luogo dell’esistenza. Se si assume la contrapposizione in sé, senza guardare al contesto di vita, ne può venire un’impressione errata. Pur contrapposto alla Folla, il Singolo non ha come sinonimi l’essere solitario e separato. Per evitare l’equivoco è decisivo riflettere sul luogo dell’esistenza. In modo paradossale, il coraggio «di essere uomini tra gli uomini» porta Kierkegaard a dire che il «vero uomo eccezionale è il vero uomo comune». La scelta del singolo non coincide perciò con la fuga. E il mondo comune degli uomini non è necessariamente un luogo di perdizione. L’alternativa aut-aut vale dunque per l’esistenza e per i luoghi. Questo legittima tanto una ricerca sulla fenomenologia dei luoghi, quanto la messa a fuoco della tensione di fondo che la sorregge, del nesso indistricabile tra luogo ed esistenza, su cui ci si concentra.
