The contribution forms part of an ongoing larger research project aimed at reconstructing the history of the library of Castel Thun (Vigo di Ton, Trento), an important noble library belonging to the counts of Thun, an illustrious family forming part of the feudal aristocracy of Trent and Central Europe. Through the examination of forty or so letters recently found in the Thun Archive, the essay traces the commercial relations which existed between Giuseppe Pinamonti, a tutor employed by the Thun family, and the Remondini booksellers and publishers in Bassano. This new and unpublished source – neither from Bassano nor from Venice – for the history of the Remondini allows us to reconstruct, as if in real time, the orders, prices and consignments of volumes between Bassano and Trento and provides important information on the Remondini firm’s commercial relations and profits in the early decades of the nineteenth century, as well as on the history of the book trade in Italy in general.

Abstract
The contribution forms part of an ongoing larger research project aimed at reconstructing the history of the library of Castel Thun (Vigo di Ton, Trento), an important noble library belonging to the counts of Thun, an illustrious family forming part of the feudal aristocracy of Trent and Central Europe. Through the examination of forty or so letters recently found in the Thun Archive, the essay traces the commercial relations which existed between Giuseppe Pinamonti, a tutor employed by the Thun family, and the Remondini booksellers and publishers in Bassano. This new and unpublished source – neither from Bassano nor from Venice – for the history of the Remondini allows us to reconstruct, as if in real time, the orders, prices and consignments of volumes between Bassano and Trento and provides important information on the Remondini firm’s commercial relations and profits in the early decades of the nineteenth century, as well as on the history of the book trade in Italy in general.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
