"I garruli trastulli". Aspetti del gioco nella poesia di Giovanni Pascoli

In the wake of the theoretical contributions of Huizinga, Callois, Fink and Benjamin, this essay makes a distinction between some typologies and modes of various games - from the generic 'ruzzare' to sadistic, agonistic or role games - revealing their constant tangency with the theme of death. The ludic escape, often accompanied by shrill and sharp sounds, is associated in various modes to the danger of a threat, to a violent interruption, or simply to an imminent death, which can reveal itself as an external trauma or as a force rooted in the game itself. Playing in Pascoli gives shape not so much to a dimension separated from life but to a privileged ground in the recollection and narration of a trauma.

In alcuni passi della poesia di Giovanni Pascoli si accenna al gioco infantile o si richiamano dinamiche ludiche. La tematica si presta a vari approfondimenti, incluse le componenti relative ai giochi proibiti (quelli erotici, per esempio). Sulla scorta dei contributi teorici di Huizinga, Caillois, Fink e Benjamin, il saggio distingue alcune tipologie e modalità di gioco diverse - dal generico 'ruzzare', al gioco sadico, agonale, di ruolo -, rilevandone la costante tangenza con il tema della morte. L'evasione ludica, spesso sottolineata da una sonorità stridula e acuta, si accompagna variamente al pericolo di una minaccia, di un'interruzione violenta o di una morte imminente, che può manifestarsi come trauma esterno o come forza radicata nel gioco stesso. Il gioco pascoliano si caratterizza quindi non come dimensione 'altra' e separata dalla vita normale, ma come una zona privilegiata nella rievocazione del trauma.
