The ancient world used to have an „invasive“ approach to environment. However, we have not to think that Greeks and Romans did not care for those environmental problems which in those times too conditioned daily life of urban centers (from wastes to traffic, from noise to air and water pollution). The A. offers a short summary of some main issues with a selection of modern scientific literature.

Il mondo antico aveva in generale un approccio „invasivo“ all‘ambiente. Tuttavia, non si deve per questo credere che Greci e Romani non si curassero di quei problemi ambientali che anche allora caratterizzavano la vita quotidiana dei centri urbani (dai rifiuti al traffico, dal rumore all’inquinamento dell’aria e dell’acqua). L'A. offre una sintesi di alcuni tempi principali con una selezione di letteratura scientifica moderna.
