Trasformazioni del welfare e nuove prospettive sociologiche

The challenge of reorganizing the welfare system and the need to address new and more complex social, health, and care needs require the development of updated theoretical approaches capable of understanding the current and multifaceted dynamics within contexts characterized by the search for new structures, imbalances, but also unprecedented convergences between the different parties (State, Market, Third Sector). The social, cultural, and spatial “metamorphoses” currently underway highlight the need for new and more relevant analytical and interpretative categories to understand an increasingly complex reality. Starting from this premise, the contribution focuses on some recent theoretical interpretations of territorial welfare inspired by the theory of planetary urbanization and the perspective of the Land Urban Nexus. Finally, the possibility of rethinking the welfare system is discussed, taking into account some emerging socio-spatial aspects that bring with them new critical issues but also unprecedented opportunities.
