This article examines the evolution of international educational historiography over the past three decades using the themes of the annual conferences of the ISCHE (International Standing Conference for the History of Education) as an analytical lens. The analysis shows that, alongside the traditional fields of the history of schooling and education, new lines of inquiry have emerged, including the cultural history of education, visual sources, the material culture of schooling, the relationship between the body and education, educational spaces, the transnational dimension of educational history, and the decolonization of education. The article also identifies areas that remain open for further investigation, notably the relationship between education and religion—often overlooked in favour of secularization—and the history of secondary education. It discusses the possible reasons for the limited attention these topics have received within international educational historiography.
L’articolo analizza l’evoluzione degli orientamenti della storiografia educativa internazionale negli ultimi trent’anni, assumendo come osservatorio i temi dei congressi annuali dell’ISCHE (International Standing Conference for the History of Education).

Abstract
It discusses the possible reasons for the limited attention these topics have received within international educational historiography.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
