Occupational Allergy essentially deals with problems such as asthma, rhinitis, conjunctivitis and dermatis related to the working environment. It refers to diseases or conditions caused by exposure to substances in the work place and in whose pathogenesis allergic mechanisms (both type I and IV) are involved. The goal of managing occupational diseases is not to have workers suffering from them. This is essentially the aim to prevention, which may be distinguished in primary prevention, requiring accurate allergen identification and characterization, secondary prevention whose key action is health surveillance, and finally, tertiary prevention that may be identified with management of the disease.

Abstract
Occupational Allergy essentially deals with problems such as asthma, rhinitis, conjunctivitis and dermatis related to the working environment. It refers to diseases or conditions caused by exposure to substances in the work place and in whose pathogenesis allergic mechanisms (both type I and IV) are involved. The goal of managing occupational diseases is not to have workers suffering from them. This is essentially the aim to prevention, which may be distinguished in primary prevention, requiring accurate allergen identification and characterization, secondary prevention whose key action is health surveillance, and finally, tertiary prevention that may be identified with management of the disease.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
