La storia in TV: la produzione RAI come caso di studio nel Visual Turn educativo e risorsa per la didattica della storia

RAI’s historical television programs represent a paradigmatic case of how television can convey educational content and serve as a tool for teaching history in secondary schools. This contribution analyzes programs ranging from didactic documentaries of the po st-war period to more recent “ neo-television” productions, examining their narrative strategies, pedagogical implications, and role in fostering critical image-reading skills (media literacy). Situated within the broader context of the Vi sual Turn in educational and school history, the article highlights both the potential and the limitations of historical television as a teaching resource and as a source for historiography attentive to visual language and educational practices.
