It critically explores whether technological progress driven by mobile applications genuinely enhances human well-being or instead contributes to increasingly demanding and stressful patterns of social and professional life. The authors argue that the evaluation of mobile technologies should extend beyond their functional benefits to encompass broader considerations relating to design, ethics, and the processing of personal data. Emphasizing a human-centered approach to software development, the article advocates for the integration of privacy, security, and ethical considerations at the design stage. In doing so, it investigates the relationship between application design and personal data processing, seeking a balanced framework that reconciles technological innovation, business objectives, and the protection of individual rights.
