Il tifo petecchiale nelle province lombarde (1816-1818): un’emergenza socio-sanitaria

This essay reconstructs the dynamics and impact in the provinces of Lombardy of the epidemic of typhus that struck the whole of Italy between 1816 and 1818, alongside a severe famine. The Austrian government responded to the emergency with public health measures that had already been tried and tested.

Nel saggio si ricostruiscono le dinamiche e l’impatto nelle province lombarde dell’epidemia di tifo petecchiale che colpì l’Italia intera tra il 1816 e il 1818, assieme a una gravissima carestia. Il governo austriaco fece fronte all’emergenza con misure di polizia sanitaria già sperimentate.
