For a long time, the concept of a creative city was associated with economic growth and territorial competition, through the attraction of creative energy and the intensity of cultural production, within processes of urban regeneration. The experience of UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN), as described in the article, illustrates an alternative and tangible model of a new creative city, more humanistic and aligned with sustainable development in economic, social, and environmental terms for urban dimensions. It is a model that values not only creative and cultural industries but also the creativity stemming from collective and community experiences of local culture. It builds a new responsible, generative and transformative urban culture.

Abstract
For a long time, the concept of a creative city was associated with economic growth and territorial competition, through the attraction of creative energy and the intensity of cultural production, within processes of urban regeneration. The experience of UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN), as described in the article, illustrates an alternative and tangible model of a new creative city, more humanistic and aligned with sustainable development in economic, social, and environmental terms for urban dimensions. It is a model that values not only creative and cultural industries but also the creativity stemming from collective and community experiences of local culture. It builds a new responsible, generative and transformative urban culture.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
