The contribution focuses on hate speech and manifestations of violence, highlighting the urgency of adequate pedagogical and educational responses in a complex and unpredictable social context. From this perspective, the authors analyse how hatred and violence, also spread through digital platforms and with onlife manifestations, affect not only society, but also school environments, making educational responses essential. These responses must include the promotion of a new language and different forms of communication. It is the school that plays a key role in setting up a space for inclusion and dialogue. Despite punitive measures, it is necessary to support preventive actions to educate to respect and value differences. Ultimately, it highlights the need for a pedagogy of encounter, based on languages and practices capable of opposing the spread of hate, in a time when the boundaries between online and offline are increasingly blurred. Abstract
