This volume reconstructs the main characteristics of the Urbino school of philosophy. It offers a compelling account of the ideal history of a philosophical city, successfully outlining the intentions and proposals, works, and teachings of many people who can generally be attributed to a unified school of thought. Begun in the 1930s, this research community was founded by Gustavo Bontadini and Italo Mancini and, through its interpretation of a variety of philosophical orientations, succeeded in making Urbino one of the principal centers of Italian philosophy.
