Abstract In contemporary business's dynamic and highly competitive landscape, organisations increasingly recognise the strategic significance of cross-border collaborative partnerships. International Strategic Alliances (ISAs) have emerged as pivotal platforms for fostering innovation and gaining a competitive edge. This study delves into the intricacies of the hotel industry, a quintessential example of international operations, to scrutinise the pivotal role of effective knowledge transfer (KT) in ISA performance. Our research framework, firmly rooted in technological drivers (TD), organisational drivers (OD), and individual drivers (ID), meticulously explores their impact on successful KT within ISAs. Employing Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), we analyse data collected from managers and owners of international hotel businesses. The key findings underscore the direct influence of these drivers on KT and subsequent alliance performance, with technological drivers such as Web 2.0, Knowledge Management Systems (KMS), and robust IT infrastructure notably standing out. This study makes noteworthy contributions to international business and knowledge management by shedding light on the interactions between KT drivers and ISAs. The insights gleaned provide a solid foundation for refining strategic alliance practices on a global scale. Embracing effective KT mechanisms enables organisations to unlock collaborative potential, propel innovation, and attain sustainable growth.
